Sensei Ennio practiced other Martial Arts for a number of years including Taekwondo, boxing and Muay Thai to further improve his skill and knowledge. Sensei Ennio has had the great opportunity to attend numerous seminars with other instructors including Sensei Kimura Shigery, Chris Thompson, Tommy Morris, Wayne Otto (9 Times World Champion and European Champion), Junior Le Ferve (World & European Champion), Toni Hails (English and Australian Champion), Sensei Ishitobi and Master Yamada.
After competing for a number of years, Sensei Ennio decided to take the role of Assistant Instructor under Sensei Alan. In 1998 he was selected as Victorian State Kumite Coach and in 2000 he was appointed National Kumite Coach. During his position as National coach, he coached in 3 World Championships (Senior and Junior) and 5 Oceania Championships. Several of his own students from the Shukokai Dojo were chosen to represent Australia in these Championships.
After Sensei Alan?s untimely death in 2006, Sensei Ennio was elected to lead the organisation. In doing this, he strictly adheres to the techniques and methods taught to him by Sensei Alan, and continues in the tradition of constantly looking for ways to improve the style of karate. He also developed a sport karate programme which offers his Shukokai Squad specific training to enable them to successfully compete at an international level.
The Dandenong Club has always had a strong reputation due to the standard of our students in both kata and kumite although our main strength has always been in the area of kumite.
